DATASENSOR S2 Universal Photoelectric Sensors
The photoelectric sensors of the S2 series are enclosed in sturdy plastic housings, developed to guarantee the complete protection of the control panel and connection terminals.
The free voltage versions present a relay output, while the 10-30 Vdc versions have a double NPN and PNP output, both available with 1 or 2 m proximity, 5 m polarised retroreflex, 3 m polarised retroreflex and 10 or 50 m through beam optic functions.
The red output LED and the green stability LED are visible through the IP66 hermetically-sealed cover, that also protects the terminal block and commands, such as the sensitivity adjustment trimmer and dark/light operating mode selector.
The versions with output timing present a trimmer to regulate the time up to 16 s. and a selector to set 5 different functions.
DATASENSOR S20 Series Universal Photoelectric Sensors
The S20 series offers all the basic optic functions at the highest operating distances. The series presents models with 50 cm background suppression with microprocessor-based Teach-in setting or, with trimmer adjustment, 10 m polarised retroreflex, 2 m diffuse proximity and 50 m emitter-receiver optic functions.
Even with particularly compact dimensions, these sensors guarantee optimal performances, thanks to special aspherical lenses that take full advantage of the high-power LED emission, visible red in the background suppression and polarised retroreflex versions and infrared in all the other models. Both NO and NC outputs are present in the NPN or PNP versions; cable or M12 connection is available.
The connection block can be adjusted either in a straight or right angle position, in order to offer improved mounting versatility.
DATASENSOR S30 Series Universal Photoelectric Sensors
Thanks to a 12 m polarised retroreflex model, a 2 m diffuse proximity, a background suppression over 1 m, and a 50 m through beam couple, the S30 series is the reference for the most demanding applications.
Versions with 10-30 Vdc power supply and transistor output, or free voltage versions with relay output are foreseen; both offer also versions with the output timing function. Terminal block or M12 connector versions are available.
The housing, created in glass-fibre reinforced polycarbonate, guarantees maximum resistance.
Moreover versions with glass-front protection with active defogging system are available.
SICK EX Series Photoelectric Switches for Explosive Areas
"Ex" series modules are designed for explosive areas in ignition protection Type "n" according to EN 50021. Hence, they conform to Categories 3G and 3D, based on the new 94/9/EC (ATEX) Directive, and can be used in the areas "Zone 2 (gas)" and "Zone 22 (non-conductive dust)".
In addition to limit values for temperature, performance or UV resistance, the Standard stipulates a mechanical strength which cannot be achieved with standard sensors.
The Category 3D/3G photoelectric switches from SICK are equipped with a metal housing. This housing meets the demanding requirements of the Standard and therefore offers a ready-to-fit solution in respect of the standard.
SICK W11 Series Photoelectric Switches
The essential requirements of a sensor in standard applications are economy and reliability. Series W11 fulfils these requirements.
All W11 sensors have visible red sender diodes as standard. This visible light spot allows the sensors to align with the object rapidly and reliably. The 4-pole M12 device plug or the 2 m cable are also included in the standard option, as well as the 800 Hz switching frequency or the shortcircuit protected switching outputs.
The WL11 UC photoelectric reflex switch probably offers todays most compact photoelectric switch with relay output.
The Series W11 sensors fulfil the test requirements of ECOLAB certifies that material resistance tests with cleaning agents and disinfectants in common use in the food-processing sector, were successfully completed.
Thanks to their reliability W11 sensors are routinely installed in typical application areas, such as the packaging industry, food and drinks, and the electronics and textile industries.

SICK W12L-2 Laser Photoelectric Switches
The W 12 L-2 series offers a complete range of photoelectric switches using innovative laser technology, contained in a rugged metal housing. Pulsed lasers are used to transmit light. Because they have in protection class 2, the machine operator does not need to take any extra safety or protective measures when using the sensors.
All the devices in this series are particularly "long-sighted".
In addition to the scanning range, the small dimensions of the light spot generated on the object is a further advantage of laser technology. This makes it possible to detect even minute items of just 0.5 mm at maximum switching frequencies of 2,500/s.
